Spring Baseball Injuries: Why they happen, what to watch for, and what to do.
Draft Work Outs:
Pee Wee & Rookie Leagues: There is no pre-draft work-out for these leagues. All players will be assigned to a team and contacted by their coach by April 26th.
Minor Leagues: All players in these leagues are required to attend a mandatory draft workout on April 16th, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Nouryon Park. All players will be contacted by their coach by April 26th with team and practice information.
Major League: All players in these leagues are required to attend a mandatory draft workout on April 16th, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Nouryon Park. All players will be contacted by their coach by April 26th with team and practice information.
Pony & Babe Ruth Leagues: There is no pre-draft work-out for these leagues. All players will be contacted by their coach by April 26th.
Post Registration
Once you register, there is no communication made to the players!!! Minor/Major League players are to report to Nouryon Park for their assigned mandatory draft work out nights! All players for all of the leagues will be contacted by their coaches no later than April 26th informing them of team name and practice information. Please be patient until all teams have been formed.
Uniforms
Jerseys/shirts are provided but must be returned at the end of the season (parents will be responsible for any unreturned uniforms or damages outside of normal wear & tear). Caps for the Pee Wee through Major Leagues are provided and may be kept by the boys at the end of the season. Caps for the Pony and Babe Ruth Leagues cost an extra $25 (see registration form for size choices). Players are responsible for purchasing their own white baseball pants and colored leggings for all leagues.
Concession Stands
Please support the concession stands, as this is the only fundraiser we carryout for our baseball leagues throughout the entire season. Thank you.
5-12’s League Pictures
Mark your Calendars - Tuesday, June 11, 2024, Bay Port High School Commons – Rain or Shine! Professional team & individual pictures will be taken by Harmann Studios. Times will vary (schedule & information packets will be made available to all coaches as the date gets closer).
Parent/Coaches Meeting
All coaches will be required to hold a meeting with the parents/guardians and players at the beginning of their first practice. Coaches will discuss league rules, practice/game schedules, concession stand schedule, and their own coaching philosophies and expectations. All parents and players should attend this meeting.
Youth Baseball Clinic
Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Grades K-6. Sponsored by Bay Port Varsity Baseball Coach Harvey Knutson, his coaching staff, and the high school baseball teams. Separate registration and payment is needed for this clinic.
Pirate Tournament Teams
Depending on your son’s level of interest and development, the Pirate Youth Baseball Club will be providing opportunities to participate in tournament competition. More information can be found at – www.bayportyouthbaseball.com
