WELCOME!

Howard Suamico Youth Sports Association is the home of Buccaneer flag football.  We offer leagues for children in our community and the surrounding communities ranging from 3 to 14 years old.  Our safe and organized approach to youth football provides for fun, fair and competitive leagues.  Our focus is on helping our youth build character, sportsmanship, self-confidence and learn responsibility and teamwork in a competitive environment while gaining a strong sense of community.

This season will see a few minor changes starting with the age groups.  The age cut off date is August 1st of the current year.  

AGE GROUPS

• BUCKY BALL - 3 and 4 years old. (our introductory program)
• 6U- 5 and 6 years old. (first year of 7 on 7 flag football)
• 8U- 7 and 8 years old. (7 on 7 flag football)
• 10U- 9 and 10 years old. (7 on 7 flag football)
• 12U- 11 and 12 years old (7 on 7 flag football)
• 14u- 13 and 14 years old. (5 on 5 flag football

Registration 

• Registration starts April 1st
• Registration ends July 25th

Game Schedule

• This year the game schedule will start one week earlier on August 16th.  We will play 7 regular season games instead of 6 this year plus the two weekends of playoffs. The following is for scheduling purposes.   Game times will be announced once teams are formed.
• Aug 16th week 1
• Aug 23rd week 2
• Aug 30th no games for holiday weekend
• Sept 6th week 3
• Sept 13th week 4
• Sept 20th week 5
• Sept 27th week 6
• Oct 4th week 7
• Oct 11th first round of playoffs
• Oct 18th final round of playoffs 

Mandatory Player Workout

Workout will be held at the Nouryon Sports park in Howard on the outfields of the baseball diamonds.  Check in will be at the concession stand.  There will be no Workout for Bucky Ball or the 6U group.  Please try to attend your appointed day.  If you cannot make that day please come to one of the other evenings.  Teams will be picked based on these workout scores. It is important to attend so we can try to make the teams as even as possible.

• July 30th 5pm 12 and 14U

What will the practice schedule look like? 

• The practice schedule is entirely developed and implemented by the head coach.  This means, the coach determines the day of the week, the time, how many times a week and where. Typically this means 1-2 evenings per week for 60-90 minutes each. 

What will the game schedule look like?

• A game schedule will be provided once teams have been drafted.

Are there playoffs?

• Yes, dates and format for playoffs will be finalized soon.

Volunteer Opportunities

• We are in need of head coaches and league directors for all leagues. Please contact us at hsflagfootball@gmail.com if you are interested in volunteering your time to coach and develop the youth in our community.

•  Bucky Ball: Ages 3 and 4.  This is an instructional camp where participants will learn the fundamentals of football. Each participant receives a Bucky Ball shirt, a trophy and new this year each player will receive there own football to keep. 
•  6U  This is an instructional league where participants will continue to learn the fundamentals of football. Games will be played and scores will be kept.  Players will be able to keep their NFL Flag Football jersey, flag belt and flags. Trophies will be given to each registered participant.
•  8U  This is an instructional league where participants will continue to learn the fundamentals of football while also developing their skills. Games will be played and scores will be kept. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams will receive trophies. Players will be able to keep their NFL Flag Football jersey, flag belt and flags.
•  10U  This league offers friendly competition where participants develop advanced skills. Games will be played and scores will be kept. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams will receive trophies. Players will be able to keep their NFL Flag Football jersey, flag belt and flags.
• 12U   This is a 7 v 7 league. Games will be played and scores will be kept. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams will receive trophies. Players will be able to keep their NFL Flag Football jersey, flag belt and flags.
• 14U   This is a 5 v 5 league. Games will be played and scores will be kept. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams will receive trophies. Players will be able to keep their NFL Flag Football jersey, flag belt and flags.

2024 Champions 

2024 Football Camp

This spring we held our first annual football camp. With the help of our local Bayport football players and the Green Bay Blizzard we had a great day where the players were able to learn some new drills and techniques to help them prepare for the upcoming season.  We are looking forward to doing it again this spring.
