2020 Flag Football Update

Update as of 8/2/20:

Dear Players, Coaches, Referees, Parents and Spectators,

As the start of the flag football season approached, we were determined that we would be able to carry forth with our season in some form in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. In consultation with local health officials, guidance from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the CDC, we drafted a return-to-play plan. Unfortunately, as more time passed, our plan became less attainable to a point where we could no longer define a safe path forward for our sport. Because of this, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 flag football season.

For those that registered, we will begin the refund process promptly. Please be patient as we work through the details. If you purchased apparel through the apparel sale, we will be contacting you separately.

The Howard Suamico Youth Sports Association is a volunteer not-for-profit organization whose mission is to develop the youth of our community through an organized sports program in cooperation with the Villages of Howard and Suamico. To achieve that goal, our purpose is to:

  • Stimulate interest and insure a safe and organized approach to youth sports
  • Emphasize the value of sportsmanship and fair play
  • Provide direction, coordination and transition for and between all individual youth sports
  • Make prospective participants more aware of the services available to increase participation
  • Educate coaches, participants and officials
  • Oversee and make recommendations to the individual leagues and to the Howard Park and Recreation Department
  • Help in budgetary needs
  • Provide a community service through a non-discriminating association
