2025 HSYSA BOYS BASEBALL REGISTRATION

Registration will open Feb. 1, 2025

To be eligible for HSYSA baseball, a player must:

Live in the Village of Howard or Suamico

or

Be Open Enrolled in the Howard-Suamico School District.  Not private schools.

League Information

LEAGUES: 

PEE WEE AMERICAN: (Grades: Pre-K & 4K). This is an INSTRUCTIONAL TEE BALL LEAGUE. Coaches will begin to teach the boys the basic fundamentals of the game. No scores will be kept. Balls/strikes/outs are not recorded and players will hit off of a tee. 

PEE WEE NATIONAL: (Grades: 4K & 5K). This is an INSTRUCTIONAL COACH PITCH LEAGUE. Coaches will begin to teach the boys the basic fundamentals of the game. No scores will be kept. Balls/strikes/outs are not recorded and if a player is not successful hitting off of a coach, he will be allowed to hit off of a tee.

ROOKIE AMERICAN: (Grades: 5K & 1st). This is an INSTRUCTIONAL COACH-PITCH LEAGUE. Coaches will continue to teach the boys the fundamentals of the game; but at the same time they will begin to develop some of the more advanced requirements of the game. No scores will be kept; however, strikes will be recorded, with boys being called out under the normal rules of the game. 

ROOKIE NATIONAL: (Grades: 1st & 2nd). This is an INSTRUCTIONAL MACHINE-PITCH LEAGUE. Coaches will continue to teach the boys the fundamentals of the game; but at the same time they will begin to develop some of the more advanced requirements of the game. Score will be kept and strikes will be recorded, with boys being called out under the normal rules of the game.

MINOR AAA: (Grades: 2nd & 3rd). MANDATORY Draft Workout April 16, 2024 @ Nouryon Park for all Minor Leagues). This is a BEGINNER KIDS-PITCH LEAGUE. Boys will continue to be taught the fundamentals of baseball. Coaches will be required to rotate players evenly between infield and outfield positions. All boys will be given the opportunity to pitch if interested.

MINOR: (Grades: 3rd & 4th). MANDATORY Draft Workout April 16, 2024 @ Nouryon Park for all Minor Leagues). This is a KIDS-PITCH LEAGUE. Boys will apply the fundamentals of baseball that they have learned in previous years to advance their skills and abilities. Coaches will be required to rotate players between infield and outfield positions.

MAJOR: (Grades: 5th & 6th). MANDATORY Draft Workout April 16, 2024 @ Nouryon Park for all Major Leagues). This is a KIDS-PITCH LEAGUE. Boys will apply the fundamentals of baseball that they have learned in previous years to advance their skills and abilities. Coaches will be required to rotate players between infield and outfield positions. 50/70 Major National League: This is a 50/70 competitive league with more advanced pitching and base running rules. Players for this league will be determined by directors and high school staff.

PONY: (7th Grade ONLY): This is a TRAVELING LEAGUE for 7th Graders. Boys will start to develop more advanced skills in a competitive environment. Games will be played on an intermediate size diamond against teams from other communities in the Bay Area Pony League. Minimum play time rules will apply (established by league representatives). There are no position rotation rules.

BABE RUTH: (Grades: 8th & 9th). This is a TRAVELING LEAGUE for 8th & 9th Graders. Boys will continue to develop more advanced skills in a competitive environment. Games will be played on a regulation size diamond against teams from other communities in the Bay Area and Fox Valley Babe Ruth Leagues. Minimum play time rules will apply (established by league representatives). There are no position rotation rules.
